Home remedies are great because they can be a quick inexpensive way to treat your problems without having major side effects. You do not have to take a bunch of pills or use harsh chemicals. You just need to do a little something and your problem disappears. There are many of them out there. Some of them work and some of them do not. It is always good to know what hair loss home remedies are myths as this can save you time, money, headache and the feeling of failure.

One of the biggest myths for preventing hair loss is that if you wear a hat or wig all the time, that this will make you go bald. In all reality, as long as it does not pull on your scalp, you will not have a problem. It may mess up your hair but that is the extent of the problem. Another frequent ideas is that shaving your head will help with hair loss. It is believed that this will make your hair grow in thicker. This is a myth. Your hair needs to have proper nutrients and many other things to make you grow more hair. Shaving it has nothing to do with this at all. Along these same lines, it is believed that brushing your hair at least a hundred strokes a day will help your hair be thick and can help keep it from balding. This is another common misconception. The only possible way this could benefit your hair is through scalp massage, which can help hair growth by improving blood flow. Other than this it will not make your hair healthier, only give it the illusion by making your hair knot free. Another myth is that putting mayonnaise on your hair will make it thicker and healthier. This is completely untrue. It will create a horrible mess and can leave your hair looking greasy for days afterwards.

Hair loss home remedies that do work are different types of herbs. Saw palmetto is the most common, though its effectiveness for women is not known. There are many different herbs that treat every different type of hair loss. All you need to do is find out what the cause of your hair loss is. Then you just have to search for the type of hair loss you suffer from and herbs and you will get results showing you the herbs that will treat it. You will also be able to find stores that carry these products and even buy them online if you choose to do so.

Hair loss home remedies can work. It is important to keep your other options in mind however. Knowing the different options you have and investigating them all helps you be able to make the best possible choice when choosing a hair loss treatment plan. Your doctor can also help you with this. Not only can they help you find the cause of your hair loss woes, they can even give you the information to make the best choice for treatment.
