Our body needs food for fuel regeneration. Four to five mini-meals could help people avoid cravings and to have a healthy body. Healthy food maintains the body's blood sugar in a right level. What happens if you don't eat for several hours? The body's blood sugar will drop. It is important to keep the blood sugar from dropping because it helps in regulating the body's metabolism. In order to sustain energy in the body and to lose weight, avoid foods that are rich in carbohydrates such as soda, chocolate and candies. Go for cereals, whole grain bread and high-protein snacks like nuts, cheese and low fat yogurt. Snacking could make a dieting person feel guilty. But the truth is snacks are not really bad if you take it moderately and appropriately. A well-thought and planned diet reduces bingeing and tames hunger. At the same time, it would also allow you to achieve your weight loss goals. Eat a nutritious snack like an apple, or any other fruit and raw vegetables to help you lose weight and to manage your hunger without corrupting your cravings and appetite for the next meal. Calorie content, nutrition, additives and fat should be taken into consideration when choosing or planning for a healthy snack. This is because healthy and well planned snacks could help in complementing your weight loss plan. Even though some snacks are labeled with "low calorie content" or "low fat content," they still might be unhealthy. Check the salt, sugar, vitamin and mineral content as well as the fat and calorie amount in the labels to see what the product contains. Healthy snacks that fit your weight loss plan:1. Bananas. Studies have shown that lemons prevent the growth and development of cancer cells, reduces the risk of stroke and increases the absorption of antioxidants and iron which is good for the blood. It also reduces preeclampsia and high-blood pressure, and could slow down the ageing of the brain. Aside from the various healthy measures that lemons can give, they are very rich in fiber which cleanses and detoxifies the digestive system. Fiber helps the body to have a well-functioning digestive system for better metabolic processes. 3. Tuna. This fish is an excellent source of vitamin B12. Tuna makes a very light meal and could be easily digested by the body. A lot of people use tuna to get protein without destroying their weight loss diet. 4. Yogurt. Plain yogurt has 1/3 of the fat that a single apple contains. Meaning to say, yogurt is a very healthy and lite snack which is good for dieting people.
