Bladder infection is mostly affecting women, although men can also suffer of it. It is caused by bacteria in the urinary tract and it has very unpleasant symptoms. The infection might be very stubborn and hard to get rid of and there are women experiencing it frequently. It is usually treated with antibiotics, but there are also some good home remedies for bladder infection that help flushing the bacteria away and preventing further recurring of the infection.

The best home remedy that can be used in such cases is to drink a lot of water. You should make yourself a habit from drinking plenty of water daily because it improves your overall health condition and prevents bladder infection. Many women choose to reduce the water intake in order to go to the bathroom as rarely as possible and to avid the unpleasant symptoms. This is a huge mistake because water eliminates bacteria from the bladder. If urine stays in your bladder for a long time, the bacteria have enough time to replicate and the infection will become more severe.

One of the most well-known home remedies for bladder infection is cranberry juice. A cure with this juice also prevents the infection from reoccurring. It is said that cranberry juice doesn't allow the bacteria to hang on to the walls of the urinary tracts. The cranberry juice can be mixed with other juices, if you don't like its taste. This remedy is pretty controversial because some people say that cranberry juice isn't actually doing anything, it's just the increased consumption of fluids that eliminates and prevents the infection. However, cranberry juice seems to have results, no matter the reason. It also contains a significant amount of Vitamin C and this is known for its antibacterial properties.

Other home remedies for bladder infection include taking hot baths for reducing the pains, or applying hot compresses on the lower area of your abdomen. Echinacea is another method of treating and preventing this medical condition. You can find Echinacea extract in from of capsules and you can take two capsules three times a day. One of the home remedies for bladder infection that is always at hand is yogurt. Eat as much as you can when you feel the first symptoms because the live organisms contained by it are fighting the bacteria from the urinary tract. If you can't tolerate yogurt, you can find capsules containing just the active ingredients.
