Many people do not believe in taking drugs. They would much rather take a home remedy, something natural for their ailments. Hair loss is no different. There are many different home remedy hair loss treatments out there. Some of these home remedies are true and can help you, others however, are just simply myths and will do nothing for you.

One frequent home remedy hair loss treatment is shaving your head. It is believed that this will make your hair grow in thicker. This is a myth. Your hair needs to have proper nutrition and many other things to make you grow more hair. Shaving it has nothing to do with this. Along these same lines, it is believed that brushing your hair at least a hundred strokes a day will help your hair be healthy, thick and can help keep it from balding. This is another common misconception. The only possible way this could benefit your hair is through scalp massage, which can actually help hair growth by improving blood flow. Other than this it will not make your hair healthier, only give it the illusion by making your hair knot free. Another common myth is that putting mayonnaise on your hair will make it thicker. This is completely untrue. It will create a horrible mess and can leave your hair looking greasy for days afterwards.

There are home remedies that can help with your hair loss. Probably the most important is to have a well balanced diet that is low in fat and high in protein. Studies have shown a connection between hair loss and high fat diets, which is why it is so important to keep a low fat diet (not to mention the importance for the rest of your body). High protein is important because the main component of hair is protein. Therefore, if your body does not have protein in it, it cannot produce hair. With the well balanced diet you should make sure that you take a multivitamin formulated to keep your hair healthy. This will give your hair all the necessary nutrients to make sure that your hair growth process continues, as it should. Another home remedy that may seem simple but is very important is keep stress at a minimum. Two very easy and therapeutic solutions to this are meditation and massage. Massage is great for more than just minimizing stress. It helps to push toxins out of your body and helps every part of your body to function better. There are herbs such as saw palmetto that are beneficial in stopping hair loss. Saw palmetto is basically a natural Propecia.

There are other home remedy hair loss treatments available. Some of which work and some of which have no scientific backing. Does that mean they will work? Not necessarily. The important thing to keep in mind with any hair loss treatment is to make sure that you are choosing a remedy that is made for the type of hair loss you have. Otherwise, you will see little or no results.
