Although mainly associated with teens, acne is also a common problem among adults.  Both teen and adult acne can be problematic. There are, however, acne treatments which are excellent for treating both.

The causes of acne and knowing the root causes is an important part of finding the right acne remedy for you. But just as important is knowing what doesn't cause acne. There are many myths surrounding acne, it's cause and cures. This article will attempt to clear up a few of those myths.

Home Spot Remedy Myth 1.Getting a tan will clear up acne. Getting a tan might make you look nice but all you will actually be doing is covering  the redness caused by acne. Sun bathing and sunbeds can cause skin damage and aggravate your acne rather than heal it.

Home Spot RemedyMyth 2.Eating greasy, fried food and chocolate causes acne. Scientific studies have proven there is no truth to this.

Home Spot Remedy Myth 3.Washing  your face frequently will clear your pores and mean fewer acne outbreaks. Washing too often can make your face dry and irritated by removing essential oils. This irritation will keep your acne from healing. Don't over wash your face and your body's natural oils will heal your skin and you will only be removing dead skin and dirt which will clog pores and cause acne.

Home Spot RemedyMyth 4.Popping pimples will make them heal up more quickly. This will make pimples seem less noticeable, however, popping spots can push bacteria deeper into the pore and irritate the surrounding area causing it to become red and inflammed. This can lead to scarring.

Home Spot Remedy Myth 5.You can't wear make up or shave. If you have acne, it is okay to use products that are noncomedogenic or nonacnegenic, which means they won't clog pores and cause breakouts.  Some concealers now have benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid in them, and, will, therefore, help fight acne.
