Many baby boomers believe that the physical and mental decline we experience beginning in our forties is caused ENTIRELY by the natural aging process. If you share this belief, engaging in age defying workouts will help you dispel it.
Aging is a MYTH
For the last 20 years, about once a week (sometimes more frequently), I heard this phase from my mother -
"IT'S TOUGH TO GET OLD."
She knew nothing about age defying workouts and refused to participate in walking as an exercise. Her body and mind declined slowly at first, but by the time she reached her eighties, inactivity and unhealthy lifestyle choices took the ultimate toll.
The point is – the concept of "aging" is nothing more than a belief – a statement like "It's tough to get old" repeated countless times by countless numbers of people. It's a truism to many because people are convinced through observation and actual experience that physical and mental decline MUST happen.
Countering the Belief
You can counter the belief in several different ways:
1. Stop attracting people who and circumstances that reinforce negative thinking about your age.
2. Start attracting people of all ages who think and act "youthfully."
3. Address lifestyle choices like smoking, excessive drinking, and the "couch potato" mind set.
Proper diet coupled with age defying workouts will help reverse the physical and mental decline and encourage growth.
