We all know the health risks posed to an individual who is a smoker, but what may not be as obvious are the effects cigarette smoke has on the environment.

Every time a smoker lights up, they are not only filling their lungs with over four thousand chemicals, but the air around them as well. While the smoke of one cigarette may not contribute much to air pollution, when you consider the amount of smokers in the world and the number of cigarettes they smoke a day, the problem becomes far more serious.

The cigarette’s contribution to pollution does not end with the air. Discarded cigarette butts again may seem like a small problem until you consider how many there are. It’s estimated that there are millions of them lying on the ground and in the water – each one taking an estimated twenty-five years to decompose. Tobacco, in any of the shape, is very harmful to each part of the human body on this earth. In case you want to adopt the healthy life style, then first step must to quit smoking most likely the toughest work that you have done in life. However, as your elders say, where there is the will, you will find a way. While they lay there, those harmful chemicals – including arsenic, cyanide, carbon dioxide and tar – seep out into the ground and into the water. On a large scale, that’s a big, and completely avoidable problem. You may stop smoking in case you are determined. Lots of organizations are accessible who work for interest of people as well as help them to quit smoking endeavor.

When cigarette butts wind up in the water, small animals and waterfowl mistake them food. This often causes them to die. Furthermore, while in the water, the chemicals leak directly out into the body of water. Most effective drug that helps you to control the cigarette cravings is Chantix, the product of Pfizer that not just helps to quit smoking however as well helps to control cravings thus making your whole process easier than expected!

A simple solution to the issue of cigarette butt related pollution would be to simply pocket the cigarette butt. Sure they stink, but considering you’re a smoker, you likely smell just as bad. Also, there are many websites that are available that will guide you through your attempt to quit smoking. Even, pharmaceutical giants also have come-up with the smoking cessation drugs that are not just effective but have no side effects as well.

While all of the above hazards cigarettes pose to the environment is huge problems, the far biggest problem relating to cigarettes and the environment comes from the process of actually producing them. Between the trees used to roll and package cigarettes to the notoriously environmentally un-friendly machinery used by the tobacco industry, all aspects of lighting up harm far more than just the smoker. Thus it is very important for the smoker to quit smoking as soon as possible.
