Has the question of"How can I stop my divorce?", been rumbling through your head for days or weeks?  Your mind if focused on the question"How can I save my relationship?".  You are going to need to convince your spouse who wants the divorce to give it another try. While you may not succeed, it is the best chance of putting a stop to the divorce.

The divorce proceedings can be stopped at any point, right up to the moment the judge signs all the papers.  You want to try to stop the divorce as soon as possible, because the success rate increases the earlier in the process you get it stopped.

How are you going to convince your husband, or wife, to give the relationship another chance?  The odds are high you have already tried begging, pleading, threatening, and blaming to try to put the relationship back together.  Instead of the result you wanted, the gap just widened.  You must stop this behavior immediately, and start acting like a calm, sane person who loves life.  Quit convincing them their decision was correct.

When you start changing your behavior, acting more alive, more pleasant, and as if life is becoming good and interesting, you will surprise them with your change, which could lead to stopping the divorce.  When the see the changes and ask, you can calmly explain you still want another chance, and you believe you both can succeed in marriage together.  By having a new attitude and new behaviors, you may see a completely different, more curious response.

If they are more receptive to talking, this will be the perfect time to continue your travel into mature behavior.  Suggest trying some couples counseling together just to see where it leads.  You may not even want to mention stopping the divorce at this point, just let them know you are interested in trying.  If they agree to counseling you have made a valuable step in the direction to stop your divorce, and to start the recovery of your marriage.

Do you remember what your spouse loved about you in the past?  The behaviors, attitudes, and topics which made them look at you with love need to be brought back to the front.  Remind them of why you two are together, it might be a good reminder for you, too.

Expect to have many problems surface during counseling, many with a finger pointing at you.  Prepare yourself to accept the criticism, and choose how you would like to change. Being serious about your role in the problems in the marriage may be enough to show them you are ready to make changes, and to stop your divorce permanently.

When you succeed and stop divorce, you must remember that the person was about to divorce you and it would be easy enough for them to change his or her mind and file for divorce later.  Having already thought about divorce and maybe even having gone far enough as to file for divorce at one time makes the decision to file again easier.

Be aware of the state of your relationship, and perhaps continue counseling.  It's easier to stop divorce temporarily than to have a good relationship for the long term.  You will need to consistently work on your marriage.

When you have success andstop the divorce, you need to remember your commitment to change.  If you fall back into old habits, behaviors, and attitudes a divorce can be restarted just as easily.  Keep an eye on what is happening in your relationship and do not wait to make change quickly.  Plan to make your relationship a priority, constantly looking for ways to improve it.

These few tips will help you get started on stopping your divorce.  You can find more tips, and discover a complete step by step system to bring the divorce to a stop, andrebuild your relationshipat Get My Ex Back Tips .
