Massage candles differ greatly from your traditional wax candles. Massage candles are specifically made for use on the body, therefore they are soy-based, melting at a safe, sensual and warm 102 degrees.

In addition to the clean-burning, eco-friendly soy found in massage candles, you will often find a proprietary blend of oils to allow for a smooth massage while providing numerous antioxidant benefits.

There are specific natural oils you should look for while searching for a massage candle. In addition to soybean oil, using a massage candle with emollient-rich coconut oil heals and protects the skin. For the best antioxidant protection, some massage candles also add apricot oil, jojoba oil, and avocado oil that provide vitamin E and many additional unique antioxidants. Hemp seed oil is a rare but extraordinarily beneficial oil found in massage candles. Hemp seed oil is one of the few oils containing omega 3, 6, and 9 that is easily absorbed into the skin. All of these oils combined will greatly benefit the skin.

Not only do massage candles have anti-aging properties and health benefits for the skin, but they leave a long-lasting scent that can affect your mood in a positive way. Look for massage candles that offer a wide selection of scents to match your moods, and the seasons. Citrus-scented massage oil candles are invigorating and energizing, while sweet and spicy scented massage candles are warming and romantic-perfect for winter. Fruity and floral fragrances are popular during spring and summer as well.

Using your massage candle is very simple. Light your candle and wait a few minutes until the wax melts into oil. Most massage candles come with a spoon perfectly fitted for spooning just the right amount. Spoon the massage oil directly onto you or your partner's skin and begin massaging- the oil will never melt to a degree that is uncomfortable. The oil will stay emollient and rich for a long-lasting massage, and then it absorbs leaving the skin smooth, silky and dewy.

Use the massage oil on hands regularly to keep the skin and cuticles healthy. The oils from the candle help nails grow stronger, longer and healthier. And remember to look for a special blend of soy, coconut, hemp, avocado, jojoba and apricot oils to maximize health benefits.

You'll find that making the transition to massage oil candles is a wonderful and warm addition for your skin and home.
