How much are you really worth?

There is a big difference between how much you're really worth and how much you are getting paid.

Most of you reading this probably have some sort of job where your boss determines how much you get paid. Basically your boss is putting a price tag on your face!

Do you believe what he/she is telling you? If you are getting paid, let's say $50,000/year, do you think you are worth that kind of money? Probably not. Ask yourself what you should be getting paid.

Leaders in the entrepreneurial industry know that you have to set your own financial thermostat. Meaning, YOU yourself determine what you are worth. Not someone else.

So my leadership advice to you is to determine how much you are worth. The skills you posses right now for yourself must have some sort of worth.

Here's a little formula that I received from a mentor of mine the other night. This will give you some sort of idea on how much your time is worth.

Let's say you make $100,000 a year, (or want to make this much.) Now there's about 8 hours in a work day and about 250 work days in a year, minus weekends and some holidays. (Don't worry, I've got my calculator!).

By the way, this principal was taught by Dan Kennedy, who is a pioneer in the marketing industry helping small businesses take it to the next level with his ideas and strategies.

So will will take that $100,000 divided by 250 working days divided by 8 working hours to get $50/hour, right? Actually this is wrong! You wanna know why?

Studies have shown that there are ONLY 3 hours in a work day that are actually productive.

So let's look at this again. You got $100,000 / 250 working days / 3 productive working hours and you get $133/hour!!! That's more like it, isn't it!

So your worth is almost 3 times as much as you think. Many don't know that.

So set your financial thermostat to want to WANT or NEED to get paid, not by what your boss says. Now, I understand some situations may not allow this.

My advice: GET OUT OF THAT SITUATION!! You can probably do what your are doing right now in your job and do it for yourself by starting your own business! You will never live up to your financial thermostat (what you really think you are worth) by working for someone else, NEVER!

So apply this little formula to what you are doing now.

What are you going to do to meet your financial thermostat and live up to your dreams?

I appreciate your time!
