Life has changed drastically in the past two decades, with increasing standards of living, ambitions and the never-ending want to earn more and more money have increased exponentially However, this has also had its share of problems in the form of an alarmingly large number of people reporting that they arewaking up tired. Let's explore how you can avoid this kind of an experience simply by concentrating on your sleep. Often, people confuse the length of sleep, i.e., the number of hours, with the quality. Let's get this thing straight right at the start; just because you are sleeping 10 hours a day does not mean it is quality sleep. You might still be waking up tired , much to your surprise. In a similar way, someone who is sleeping just 6 hours might be doing better than yourself (much to your surprise!). Our body has sleep cycles of approximately 90 minutes each. The more sleep cycles one completes, the more refreshed a person is bound to feel. However, if you wake up in the middle of a cycle, that is more exhausting than anything. So, sleeping for 8.5 hours and 6 hours might be almost equal in terms of the rejuvenation factor, with the latter even scoring more in some cases, since it's a direct multiple of 1.5 hours. This way, you can actually feel better by sleeping less! Another helpful strategy to follow in case you arewaking up tiredis to sleep in slots of, you guessed it, 1.5 hours, or its multiples. This way, not only can you get more out of your day, you would also feel refreshed after these extended 'power naps', if you will. Of course, other factors like eating right and drinking lots of water also have their part to play, but the key is to get proper sleep in order to recharge every part of your body.
