How responsible are you?

Individual responsibility is the glue that holds civilisation together, but is something we give little thought to. If you drive a car you assume that the guy heading in the opposite direction to you is going to be responsible right and that he will remain on his side of the road and this is only a small example

One of the primary lessons that each parent passes on to his/her child is that ultimately they must take responsibility for their own individual actions. It is a primary, almost tribal inheritance that is passed from generation to generation.

Responsibility and conscience go hand in hand and are in reality the backbone of civilisation. Without these attributes we would in fact be no more than a pack of savages, or even worse. These crucial aspects of being human cannot be enforced from without, neither by force, or persuasion. Just how responsible we are is something that only we can know individually, but for sure it is something that is niether dependent upon our social status, or our economic situation.

It could be argued that the saints and messiahs that have manifested throughout history and the world have been very rich in these attributes and have taken it upon themselves to try to share their understanding of the true potential of being human.

So each moment of each day we each have that choice, do we act from selfish and/or motives of greed, or do we act from our sense of conscience and responsibility?
