Many people create big goals and look forward to fulfilling them but find themselves stuck along the way. Part of the problem is we tend to overwhelm ourselves when we compartmentalize something so big in our minds that it seems completely opposite of our current reality. We will stress over the fact that we will never be able to accomplish something so monumental and as a result, we never start moving towards it. In order to bring that future goal into the present you need to connect the dots between the present and the future. The way to join the two is by setting smaller more achievable goals on a monthly and daily basis.

Rome wasn't built in a day and neither will your company bank account. In my "Accelerated Leader Development Program", I teach a step-by-step program which people have access to when they join my team. It teaches them how to set everything up properly and this requires goal setting through the entire process! Fortunately, if you can break down your goal into smaller modules and sub-modules, you can create a staircase upon which you can start ascending. It will bring a reality to your goal instead of just a passing dream. Follow these three steps to start putting a serious strategy in place to getting what you want out of life for your business.

Planning

Take your huge goal and break it down into smaller parts. Next, break down each of those into even smaller parts. Do this until you see a goal which you feel you can accomplish in the next week or month. If you can't think of how to break everything down just write what makes sense to you. It does not need to be exact; it is just a method to dispel the idea that your goals are not attainable and help you move in a forward direction. Your goals will change over time anyway.

Prioritizing

Once you are finished writing every smaller goal, prioritize them in order of importance. For example, if you want to create a website, your first priority would either be to start with a design concept or start researching. Regardless of whether you will know what to do or not, give yourself something to do that will keep you moving forward. If you feel helpless you will lose momentum.

Follow Through

Lastly, take action! Don't get caught up in the details. Take it one step at a time. As you complete one goal, you will gain more motivation to move on to the next one and the cycle will continue. Before long you will be on a roll and on your way to fulfilling your ultimate goal.
