The body is synonymous to a factory that is composed of different departments all aimed at achieving one productive goal. Any failure by one department affects the performance of the whole unit. The body secretes substances that have specific functions on targeted organs. These substances are called hormones. Sometimes hormones reach high levels such that they cause undesirable effects such as hair loss. We are going to look at how one can control the hormones affecting hair loss. The most common hormone that is associated with hair loss is testosterone. Testosterone is the trouble hormone that causes hair loss in males. How then can we control the level of testosterone in our body? You can control the level of testosterone in the body by taking some drugs that help reduce the levels of this hormone. These drugs help reduce the level of this hormone by inhibiting the enzyme that is involved in its synthesis pathway. Another way one can control the level of testosterone in their body is by living a healthy lifestyle. Drug abuse is a major contributor to increased hormonal release. Stress is another factor that help elevate the levels of hormones in the body. In the presence of stress the body responds by increasing the activity of the thyroid gland causing a release of more hormones than is normal. Some of these hormones will be the androgens which are associated with hair loss. So, a good way to correct this will be to indulge into activities that help reduce stress such as sports, watching movies and going to the gym. Hormones affecting hair loss is also a common problem in women. Hair loss in women is however not caused by the hormone testosterone so the pattern of baldness in women follows a different pattern. Hair loss in women is usually the result of thinning and excessive shedding of hair by hair follicles in the presence of excess hormones or stress to the body. Some women elevate the level of hormones that cause hair loss in their bodies by taking some oral contraceptives that are hormonal based. So, if you are a woman and you are facing challenges with hair loss problems, you need to check first on your lifestyle. Making changes to your lifestyle is the first step in controlling hair loss caused by increased hormonal secretion. If you are on contraceptives you have to withdraw from such contraceptives and look for possible alternatives which will have no side effects like hair loss. You can also use some herbal treatments to control your hormonal levels. Women are usually encouraged to use the natural treatments to treat hair loss problems as some drugs used to treat hair problems can cause side effects that will affect pregnancy. Herbal remedies are effective at controlling the levels of hormones and not only will they do so, but they will also control other blood associated complications such as cholesterol plaques. Herbal remedies also eliminate toxins that trigger the release of hormones that cause hair loss.
