The question of how to deal with a broken heart isn't a new one for women. Most of us have been in this same position at some time. You've recently gone through a break up with your boyfriend and you are certain that you can actually feel your heart breaking into a million pieces. Although some people may tell you to try and get him back, you know in your heart that if it didn't work the first time, it's likely not going to work a second time. The other option is to forget him and move on, but that's certainly not as easy as it sounds, is it? There are actually simple steps you can take that do help you to put the pain behind you and start living the rest of your life. Learning how to deal with a broken heart starts with recognizing the importance of your friends and family. Lean on those closest to you after the break up and don't be afraid to confide in them what you're feeling. Most of us have been through a difficult split at some point so we understand those complicated feelings. Try and spend as much time as you can with others. Get out and do things as well. Don't permit yourself to become someone who mourns the relationship in silence in her home. You need to surround yourself with supportive people and you need to have fun. If you can engage in enjoyable activities like going to the movies, having dinner at a nice restaurant or even shopping that will help take your mind away from the break up. Another step you want to take to get over your ex is to delete his contact information from your cell phone and computer. Although you've likely memorized his number and his email address, it's symbolic when you delete them. You need to show yourself that you're ready to move on and that has to include a promise to not contact him again. If he's your friend on any of the social networking sites, delete him. You need to make the split permanent and irreversible, and doing those small things will help you accomplish that.
