With the hustle and bustle of daily life it is hard to escape stress. It is everywhere around us, especially in these tough economic times. It can seem like there is no way to avoid stress. Most people know that stress causes many issues. It elevates your blood pressure, which can cause many health problems. It can cause you to gain weight. It can even put a strain on your relationships. What a lot of people don't realize is that is that stress and hair loss go together as well.

Stress related hair loss can pose quite a problem for men and women alike. It makes you lose your hair because it attacks the hair follicles. It does this through interfering with your body's natural production of Follicle Stimulating Hormone or FSH. FSH is what keeps the hair on your head. It also makes sure that new hair grows in when your hair falls out through the natural process. On top of that, stress can affect your diet as well, causing you to either overeat or not eat at all. This can make you lose your hair. Stress can also cause you to not be able to sleep, which can cause hair loss as well.

So the key thing to remember with stress related hair loss is to keep your life as stress free as possible. This may seem like an impossible but it is much more attainable than you may think. The first thing to do is make sure you don't overload yourself. Taking on too many tasks between work and your home life can cause an excess of stress. Try to meditate everyday. It is a lot easier than you may think. There are plenty of free guided meditation mp3s you can download and listen to on your break at work or even before you go to bed. Another way to battle stress is through exercise. Exercising releases feel good chemicals into your body, which will help with this. Another great thing is to find time for you, doing something you love to do, something that centers you. This can be as simple as getting a pedicure or massage or even working on a car for fun. The key is to do something you find enjoyment in.

We know that stress and hair loss go hand in hand. And when you lose your hair you tend to stress out. So how do you break this vicious cycle? Try following these simple techniques. If you find you are still having problems with either hair loss or stress, it may be time to see a professional to help you get to the root of the problem. No matter what, keep in mind that there are many treatments for hair loss. And if none of them work for you, there are many different styles of wigs and hair pieces that you can choose from. Shopping for them can be fun and will allow you to change your hairstyle as often as you want to.
