In this article today I would like to talk about several tips, tricks, and simple techniques that just about anybody can use to help fight off the signs of aging in our bodies.
For the last two decades many people have turned to this simple yet flawed solution to help ward off the signs of aging in their bodies... plastic surgery. There's even a television show on cable about a couple of plastic surgeons! But if you ask me, plastic surgery never quite looks... well, right. It always looks sort of off to me, almost comically so sometimes.
Besides, even if you get plastic surgery to make yourself look younger, you won't necessarily feel younger and what's the use of looking healthy if you aren't actually healthy?
In my opinion, a much better way to fight off the signs of aging is to forget about plastic surgery and instead focus on natural methods to stay young and healthy for the rest of your life. Science has evolved to the point where we know what makes people look and feel old before their time and we can combat those things with something as simple as a diet and exercise and that's what I'm going to talk about in this article today.
We begin to look old because we consume too many things called free radicals which are found in a lot of the different foods we eat including meats and processed foods. Free radicals meld with other molecules in our bodies to burn oxygen in a process called oxidation which basically just wears your body out. You can fight oxidation and free radicals by consuming foods high in something called antioxidants.
Antioxidants are found primarily in fruits and vegetables and also foods high in vitamin C, vitamin E, beta-carotene, selenium and flavenoids. It's no huge leap of logic to suggest that we should be eating diets high in fruits and vegetables and low in fatty meats. We also know that we really shouldn't be eating fast food either or processed foods as well. Cutting out these types of foods and adding more fruits and vegetables can go a long way into reversing the signs of aging in your body.
Apart from your diet, exercise is the most important part of the anti aging process. As we grow older our bodies lose muscle mass and to stay young looking we need to replace that muscle through weight training. I'm not suggesting you have to spend all day in the gym and look like Arnold Schwarzenegger, but you should engage in a few simple weight training exercises even if you use very low amounts of weight. You should weight train three times a week, every other day.
On the days you're not weight training, you should engage in aerobic exercises such as walking, jogging, bike riding, or swimming... whichever is the most fun for you. Keeping your body firm and loose through aerobic exercise is incredibly important for longevity and youthful aging.
So there you have several very simple tips and tricks that anybody can use to help fight the signs of aging and reverse the aging process in your body. You don't need to resort to expensive plastic surgery. You just need to get a little exercise and eat better and it doesn't really have to get much more complicated than that.
