Life with panic and anxiety attacks can be really fearful and unproductive, as you wait around wondering when the next panic attack is going to strike while you should focusing on more important things. For people who suffer from anxiety and panic attacks, because the experience of an anxiety attack makes them feel like they are not in control and grips them with fear, they fear the next time a panic attack hits them again. So the next attack becomes their main focus, and so they live their lives fearful of an attack coming again.

Sometimes they will try and pinpoint situations that are more likely to induce an attack, like if they were scared of lifts, or the dark or driving or whatever the situation may be. They then avoid those situations that they believe may bring on an attack. That is not a life though is it?

What can you do as an anxiety and panic attack sufferer to free yourself from a life of fear?

• Join a support group for people who like you suffer from panic attacks. You will be able to share stories, the kind of symptoms that you go through, situations that induce the panic attack and they might be able to share with you what has worked for them in dealing with them. Most important, you will not feel like you are going at this alone.

• Caffeine and alcohol are both stimulants and can get your body agitated. They make it more easier for a panic attack to come on, so stay away from these.

• Exercise can do a wealth of good for you. Not only will it benefit your body, but it will also benefit your total well being, and it will leave you refreshed and relaxed.

• Ensure you have a great nights rest. A healthy body goes together with a healthy and sound mind. If you are tired or are not sleeping enough, your body is more likely to get attacked by anxiety and other conditions, as it is not strong at that moment.

• Stay positive, as soon as a negative thought tries to enter your mind, replace it with a happy thought, and those negative feelings will also be replaced with positive feelings.
