Emo hair styles are an expression of individuality. The Emo hair style and cut are some of the most obvious symbols that people are into the whole Emo scene. In 2008 Emo hair styles are becoming increasingly common, although it is becoming more difficult to ascertain whether those with the hairstyle are true to the Emo scene or not. Emo hair is usually symbolized by a black coloring that is normally brought from a bottle.

Emo look is a cool latest fashion and it is thereby quite obvious that many people are making efforts to fit into that genre. Apart from the emo dress, hairstyle is another essential thing that greatly contributes to a perfect emo look. Not abiding to the basics or traditional fashion trends,Emo girl hairideas are the ones that have their own sense of fashion, which makes emo girls stand out from the crowd.

The emo hairstyles for girls may consist of a straight fringe above the eyes and reasonably long hair extensions dyed usually black but other lighter colors such as white blonde are also accepted.

This goes for girls! Let your hair grow in the front and side parts so they cover your face. In the back you can let it short and spike it up with gel! Some do that, some don't! If you have short hair, the first months are going to be a pain, because you won't be able to make your hair look "emo". As it grows, comb it towards an eye in the direction that you want. After 3 or 4 months, when the fringe reaches 3/4 of the way down your forehead, go to a hair dresser that looks professional, and get it thinned out and have it trimmed so that it will grow in the right shape.

All girls who want Emo hairstyle, you'll need to straighten your hair, with either an iron or gel. If your hair is wavy, just use hairspray/gel to weigh it down. I suggest buying a hair straightening iron and use a good moisturizing shampoo to prevent your hair from getting damaged. Tip: If you wash your hair too much, this can dry it out; that doesn't mean you don't have to wash it at all, just bleach. If you consider dyeing your hair, dye it black. The other colors are not so cool and you'll look like a clown, in my opinion. After 3 or 4 months, your hair should look like you want. From that point, you should go to the hair stylist monthly for your hair to be thinned and stuff.

Steps

It is not at all difficult to have soft, smooth, and shiny hair. Just follow these few simple steps and you will have beautiful and luxurious Emo hair in no time.

  • Brush your hair several times a day. Brushing helps remove the dirt, dust, and grime that get trapped in your hair. It also helps distribute the natural oils produced by the scalp, from the roots to the tips.
  • Apply shampoo every alternate day and condition it everyday. Shampooing on a daily basis may strip off the natural oils that moisturize the hair. Conditioning it, on the other hand, restores lost moisture and keeps the natural oils in place. Use cold water as much as possible when washing your hair. This seals the hair cuticles and locks the conditioner as close to the hair follicle as possible.
  • Give your hair a hot oil treatment once every two weeks. Mayonnaise or egg yolks can be used as an alternative to expensive salon treatments. Spread mayonnaise or egg yolks combined with olive oil all over your hair, concentrating on the ends. Cover your hair with a shower cap for 10-20 mins and then rinse well.
  • Eat lots of food rich in B-vitamins and proteins, like bananas, soybeans, avocados, eggs, grains, and red meat. The nutrients found in these food items are responsible for healthy and shiny hair.
  • Refrain from using heated styling tools and alcohol-based styling products as much as possible, as this can easily dry out your hair. If it cannot be avoided, use thermal styling tools and water-based styling products, which cause less damage to the hair.
  • Grow your hair out; the front and side parts so they cover a good portion of your face. Some people grow out the back. If it's short in the back, you can spike it up with gel, but this looks tacky if it gets too long. Have it cut around the ears, and keep the back and front in a 'blended crop' cut, otherwise here comes the tacky again. Also, don't have too long of an 'Emo fringe', or you look like a poser. If you’re a girl make sure you trim your fringe regularly, make sure it is longer and goes past your nose but not past the bottom of your face.
  • Layer your hair. Get lots of long choppy layers about half way down your hair, and short choppy layers the rest of the way up. Make sure you spike it up a little toward the front, but not all the way up.
  • Straighten your hair, with either a hair straightener or gel. If you straighten it often, then use heat defense shampoos and sprays to keep your hair healthy. If your hair is wavy just use hair gel to keep it down! Remember that emos can have curly hair, be unique and try it out!
  • Dye your hair black, brown, or blonde. Not all emos have short black hair (although that screams Emo). Try to make it unique by adding random streaks of colors like pink, blue, green, or blonde. Make sure to bleach the hair before using colors, or it won't blend. Be original. If your parents are strict, get semi dye or colored extensions.
  • Accessorize your hair. Girly bows are the best! Add them randomly to your hair. Also use wicked hair clips with bats or spiders! Remember not to go overboard while going forEmo Girl Hairand to add accessories gradually or you will look like a poser and also very stupid.
  • Take care of your Emo hair, don’t over do it and make sure you don’t just come into school one day with "Emo" hair or you will be called a poser. Start with it cut, then accessories a couple weeks later, and then another couple weeks later get color.

Tips

  • Tease the top and back of your hair, then add hairspray. It makes your hair look fuller.
  • If you're getting a hair dye from a hair salon, make sure its permanent. If you're doing the coloring yourself, use drugstore dye; make sure that it is permanent if you've got lighter hair.
  • Straighten your hair in small sections, especially if you have thick hair.Don't sweep the straightener through your hair. Slowly straightening your hair will make it more pin-straight.
  • Try not to wear your "Emo hair" in a ponytail! This could look stupid and childish!
