Palpitations are heartbeat sensations that feel like pounding or racing. You may have an unpleasant awareness of your own heartbeat. You may feel like- There's skipped or stopped in heart beats. It can be felt in your chest, throat, or neck. A palpitation is an awareness of the beating of the heart. It can also refer to a shaking motion. An abnormal heart rhythm is referred to as an arrhythmia. It enables the person to become aware of the action of his heart. It is a distressing condition but is not always serious.
Glass canning jars are ideal for making medicinal herbal teas. A quart-size jar makes a day's ration of tea, and the tight-fitting lid keeps the volatile healing compounds from escaping with the steam. Rinse the jar with hot water and place the dried herbs in the jar. Fill the jar with boiling water and quickly screw on the lid, positioning the inner lid with the rubber seal facing up to keep the jar from sealing too tightly. Allow the tea to cool to lukewarm before opening the jar.
The patient suffering from palpitation of the heart should take a simple diet of natural foods, with emphasis on fresh fruits, and raw or lightly cooked vegetables. He should avoid tea, coffee, alcohol, chocolate, soft drinks, all white flour products, sugar, food colorings, chemical additives, white rice, and strong condiments. He should restrict his diet to three meals a day. He should take fruits, milk, and a handful of nuts or seeds for breakfast in the morning; steamed vegetables, whole-wheat and a glass of buttermilk for lunch in the afternoon; and fresh green vegetable salad, sprouts of alfalfa seeds, and cottage cheese or a glass of buttermilk for dinner.
Snake gourd leaves have many beneficial effects. It can also relieve heart palpitation. Prepare a mixture using your food processor. Once the leaves of snake gourd become pasty, get cheesecloth and squeeze the juice of the pasty leaves from it. Try to take at least 1 to 2 tbs. three times a day. Grapes serve as the best remedy for treating the problem of heart palpitation. The patient should be given the juice of grapefruit at frequent intervals. Abnormalities in the atria, the ventricles, and the electrical conducting system [the Sino-atrial (SA) node, and the Atrio-ventricular (AV) node] of the heart can lead to arrhythmias that cause palpitations.
