One of the best ways to get on your way to overcoming procrastination is to de-clutter your working environment.
For a procrastinator, being surrounded by clutter just means more possible distractions. And more distractions mean a reduced ability to focus on getting the task in hand done from start to finish in the least amount of time.
So, if there are papers, notes or stationary on your desk then get them out of sight.
You've heard the saying out of sight out of mine, well that's what you want to focus on doing ... get the clutter out of your sight.
The only things that should be on your desk and in your office are things you need to use. You don't need 100 pens and pencils on your desk. You don't need 100 pieces of different colored papers. So get unnecessary stationary, papers and anything else that is cluttering your office out of sight and out of your mind.
The great thing about getting rid of the clutter is as soon as you sit back down to get to work your working environment will feel like a new place. You will breathe a fresh breath of air and look forward to getting to work.
This is very much likely to happen for you because once you make your working environment a clutter free place free from distractions, the only thing left for you to do is get to work and get your vital projects done in the least amount of time possible from start to finish.
