There are a number of foods which can cause excessive flatulence. These include dairy products, cabbage, beans, prunes, apricots, wheat based cereals and any fatty and rich foods. Eating these foods, even in sensible amounts can cause excessive flatulence for some people. It is possible that a person is intolerant of a food group if they have severe reaction to a type of food. Most people, however struggle to breakdown some foods, for example, beans have complex carbohydrates which the human body struggles to break down, causing excess flatulence. If you find that flatulence is becoming a social problem, then there are a number of actions that can be taken. Charcoal tablets have long been used for settling an upset stomach as the charcoal absorb substances in the stomach and claim to absorb the flatulent gases in the intestines. Charcoal tablets are not medically approved and may incur side effects such as constipation, diarrhea or swelling and pain to the stomach. A change in diet is the best way to reduce flatulence, cutting one item out at a time to identify what it is that is that is causing the flatulence. This may take some time and it is even possible that the suffers could have a bowel disorder such as IBS or crohns. Irritable bowel syndrome is thought to be triggered by anxiety and stress and the main side effect is excessive flatulence. There are no cures for IBS, but there are way to deal with it. Whilst charcoal tablets may work, they are unlikely to help to the extent needed of an IBS sufferer. The best way to avoid the uncomfortable and embarrassing smell of flatulence is to filter the smell on the way out of the body. There are underwear products which filters the smell of flatulence making the wearer more confident in social and work situations. The underwear works by passing the flatulent gas through a layer of activated carbon in the underwear. The carbon absorbs all the malodorous gases and sends the flatulence out the other side smelling fresh. This is quite possibly the best solution to dealing with excessive " target="_self" flatulence as there is no medical cure for chronic flatulence.
