There are private schools, charter schools, magnet schools, Native American schools, military schools, and many more alternative and special schools plus numerous types of youth organizations.

Like it or not, schools and the youth are always in trouble.Failing grades, increasing dropout rates, failing schools, and substance abuse problems are just some of the prevalent dilemmas concerning youth today.

This is where you come in as a motivational speaker. You can help educate, motivate and inspire the youth, and sometimes you can help their parents, teachers and school administrators address those problems. Present yourself as a solution. You get to help solve society's problem and earn lots of money in the process.

Before diving in the youth market, be sure to make sure you have a genuine passion for aiding the youth.Authenticity is important in this specific area. You may want to make money but the most rewarding thing about speaking to the youth is the deed of helping out.

There are two things to consider when choosing this niche. One is the ability to connect as a speaker with the younger audience. The other is recognizing and impressing your audience with your message.

It takes a different breed of speaker to connect with youth audiences they require a more dynamic and upbeat speech. So, it is not uncommon to see young speakers doing the talking in the youth market. They can relate to the audience and they present themselves as someone that the youth can emulate and some think the best speakers for the job are young speakers.

When it comes to promoting your self and positioning your trade in the youth market, you need to find out who your buyers are. They will be the school administrators, organization presidents, school leaders, and club officers. You should aim to impress these people to get booked and then to get referrals and testimonials.

Always position yourself as an expert that can provide the solution to the audiences problems.Create marketing materials, such as, brochures that present your credentials and accomplishments as a youth speaker. Writing non-fiction books that are relevant to the youth market can help with your marketing approach.

It always helps if you have some experiences that you can share with your young audience. Successful youth speakers are typically troubled teens themselves; whether it is financially, emotionally, an even socially. They want to get inspired and it's easy when they hear the personal stories of speakers. They just love an underdog story. They want to hear that success can be achieved even against difficult odds.

In a business aspect, speakers must know how to package and catalog their services. Speakers must have different marketing angles. For instance, you can present a talk about drugs and alcohol as a single offer, then, you can have another package where you offer to talk about youth leadership.

In summary, youth market is a gold mine if you know what to do. However, you should have an authentic passion for helping today's youth so your career will have integrity and will become most rewarding.
