A lot of people don't bother trying to stop smoking once they have started. I think it is because they are unaware of all the bad things that can happen. Not only are they unaware of the bad things that can happen, they don't know how to stop. Smoking can effect everyone around, and not just the person smoking. This is also known as second hand smoking. Second hand smoking is just as dangerous, as if the person was really smoking in real life.

Smoking really damages your body. It can give you lung cancer, make your skin wrinkle, it makes your breath stink, and your clothes can smell really bad. That is just some of the things that can happen when you smoke.

However, you can stop smoking. Hopefully with a couple of these tips you will get started after you read this.

Talk with your doctor if you are smoking, and inform your doctor. Your doctor might suggest that you go on a patch. These patches will reduce the cravings for smoking, and they normally start working right away.

Tell your friends you are about to stop. Get a date, and tell them of the date. Inform your friends of when you last smoked, and if you didn't smoke at all. Having support from your friends at this time will really help you. They might decide to even take you out, or send encouraging emails for you to stop smoking.

Get out a journal, and write down all of the reasons to stop smoking. Remind yourself of these reasons every day.

As long as you are alive, you will want to be very healthy, and fit. Smoking can delay this from happening. When you stop smoking go for walks every day, and enjoy smelling nice. Buy some perfume in a celebration of you not smoking.
