No matter whom you are, or the relationship you have to the bride and to the groom, you will likely already know how much of an honor it is to be asked to speak at the couples' wedding. Along with this honor, can come great stress from writing your speech. Here, we will try to help banish the need for such issues, by providing hints and tips on how to make sure both your speech and wedding toast are memorable to the audience.

Stay Calm

Even the coolest cats seem to lose their nerve when faced with an awaiting audience. Their bating and already slightly drunken breathe is piling onto your whilst their eyes stare straight into yours, the pressure is on. Okay, so it might not be quite like this, but the pressure is always felt, it is a natural thing. We mean that too, you need to remember that it is entirely normal to feel nervous or to find you are getting slightly clammy palms. Do not let yourself think that everyone else who has ever done a wedding toast has been calm and collected the entire way through, this is simply not true.

Capture their Imagination

Always introduce yourself first of all, this is a good way to firstly let those in the audience know who you are and secondly, to make yourself appear to be open and friendly. Now that you have started your speech off well, allow yourself to capture the imagination of the audience. Some people are very good at telling stories and getting the audience involved. A fantastic way to involve the audience in a very organic way is to mention some of their names within your stories. Of course, the stories should all revolve around the newlywed couple, but talk about those around them and make jokes. If a particular audience member is named, they will feel special and the rest of the onlookers will be watching to see how they react.

From the Heart

If you have already been invited to speak at the new bride and groom's wedding, then it is almost certain that you are either family, or a very close friend. This means that you will have many stories and fond memories of the couple together or even before they knew each other. Tell some heartfelt stories or memories to the audience and allow them to become involved. Dramas can be thought into deeply and the audience's memories will run away with themselves. If your memories can be told and then help to forge new memories into the newlywed's guests minds', then you will know that you have done a very good job.

Thank you for the time you spent with me reading this article about speech wedding toast !
