Lifestyle change and self improvement programs are needed whenever one has hypertension. In some cases, the patient goes with prescribed medication for proper treatment. Once the blood pressure goes higher than 120/80, then there is hypertension. So, doctor's recommendation aside from prescribed medications would be proper diet and lifestyle.

Normally, persons addicted either to alcohol; cigarette or prohibited drugs are the persons who experience hypertension.  It is important that they should quit smoking and the use of prohibited drugs or limit intake of alcoholic beverages to one or two alcoholic beverages in a day. Additional activities to help lower hypertension are to have more physical exercise or activity. For intakes, one has to cut down fats and the use of salt and sodium. Losing weight is also important in the case of obese individuals.

Medications although prescribed by the doctors have side effects. Too much of these might affect the sense of hearing of the person. It is better to go with dietary and lifestyle changes. This means that unhealthy food, smoking, alcoholic beverages and prohibited drugs should be set aside. Instead, start eating healthy food and do positive adjustments on your habits.

To control your weight, it is necessary to cut off fatty, Tran's fat rich and salty foods because the functioning of the circulatory, nervous, digestive and renal systems will be affected. It is essential to have more of vegetables because these are rich in fibers and minerals. Carbohydrates should be cut off for weight loss as well as problems on insulin which are contributory factors to high blood pressure. Celtic salt should be used instead of ordinary salt.

In addition to the diet, proper exercise is very vital to our body and health. If you are not used to it, you can start with walking for at least thirty minutes a day for three days a week. This is important for those with heart problems. With deep breathing you will have the benefits of, better circulation of blood to the heart and brain, better digestion and cure for hypertension. It can make a person fell relax stress-free.

Exercise is vital to all aspects of health, both mental and physical. Brisk walking is highly recommended for those who have possible compromising heart problems. It would help tone muscles and enrich blood vessel.

Drinking more water is another cure for hypertension. Eight medium sized glasses of water per day is a minimum requirement of water intake. To make more beneficial to the health and provide extra mineral to our body, you can add lemon to it. This lowers the pH of the water and cleanses all the bodily systems. A dehydrated body makes the heart unable to function and the cells suffer for oxygen. More water intake is needed for a healthy body.
