"I broke up with my boyfriend, but I still love him and want him back ." That's a statement that many women find themselves saying after the dust has cleared from their break up. Unfortunately we can't see into the future and although a split may feel like the best thing at the time, it's not always that way. You may suddenly realize that you love your boyfriend more than you knew and that you can't imagine a life without him. If that's the case, take heart. You don't have to wallow in regret for the rest of your life. You can get him back and you can rebuild your love so it's stronger than it ever was before.

The first move you must make if you want another chance with your ex boyfriend is to apologize to him. Regardless of what he did that led to the break up, you need to own up to your part in things and make amends for it. Don't prepare a long, drawn out, overdone apology. Just call him up and tell him you're sorry. Keeping it short, simple and to the point is the best and most effective approach.

The next step to get him back may feel like a step in the wrong direction, but it's really not at all. Work at building a new relationship with him that focuses on a platonic friendship. For any woman still in love with her ex, this feels like a sell out. You may even view it as emotional torture but you must keep an open mind. If you can show him that you are willing to push aside all the past romantic feelings you two shared and become his friend, he'll feel more open emotionally to you. That's exactly what you want him to do. Once you show him that you can be a trusted friend who only wants the best for him, he'll feel closer to you. That's exactly what you want and need if your end goal is to get him back for good.
