There is a new craze in plastic surgery: the mommy makeover. San Francisco and other cities have seen an explosion in demand for this procedure (or multiple procedures to be accurate). Now moms don't have to put up with being unhappy with their bodies following childbirth, and can take control of the way they look.

So what does a mommy makeover involve? It generally consists of a few different plastic surgery procedures, including breast augmentation, liposuction, and face lifts. These procedures target the areas of the body that are most affected following childbirth, providing moms with a new body that they can finally be happy with.

Have you had a child or two and want to get your old body back? The following information will show you what to expect from a mommy makeover to help you decide if it is for you.

Breast Augmentation

When it comes to breast augmentation, San Francisco sees a large number of moms undertaking this procedure every year. When a woman stops breastfeeding, the breasts can start to sag and this is one of the things that moms hate the most after they have given birth.

There are lots of choices in terms of the procedures on offer and the choice of implant (normally silicone or saline). Prices vary from surgeon to surgeon and place to place, so look around for the right place for you. Once you get a breast augmentation, you will improve the size and shape of your breasts and get rid of that sag.

Liposuction

Liposuction is the process of removing fat deposits from under the skin, making you look smooth and light without having to make a huge effort in the gym every day.

Women often gain weight during pregnancy, with anything up to 35 pounds being quite common. The fat is normally stored as fatty tissue in various parts of the body, including the breasts, hips, thighs, and buttocks to name just a few. The answer is a liposuction. San Francisco moms should always look for a good surgeon to perform the procedure, as it can be quite complex.

Face Lift

Post pregnancy, many women develop bags under their eyes and looser skin on their faces. This can add wrinkles and make you look older than you really are. A facelift, or rhytidectomy as it is known, can be minor or extensive, depending on the amount of work that needs to be done.

There are lots of different variations, and for a really quick face lift, San Francisco moms sometimes opt for the ‘threadlift,' also known as the ‘lunchtime facelift', which is actually a cosmetic procedure.  If you are considering a face lift, ask a plastic surgeon what he or she recommends as you may not need an extensive procedure.

Do you Want a Mommy Makeover?

A mommy makeover may be just what you're looking for if you want to return your body to its pre-baby state. Always remember that surgery does come with some risks, and you should think about it carefully before going ahead with the procedure.
