Candida is the bacteria which causes thrush. It is actually a growth of organisms which is found in various parts of your body, like your mouth, genitals and even on your skin and in your digestive system. A yeast infection is not dangerous to your health but it can be extremely uncomfortable if it is not treated effectively.

Many people ask me whether or not thrush is contagious, and my honest answer is that yes it is. Thrush can be spread to other parts of your own body as well as to other people. Often, people who are suffering from oral thrush will also get a bout of genital thrush to boot. Not nice, but unfortunately that's the way our bodies work.

Babies are often thrush sufferers as without having fully developed immune systems, it is easier for them to develop the yeast overgrowth. Breast feeding mothers often pass thrush to their babies through their milk.

So what do you need to look for?

The most basic symptoms of thrush are:

- white or creamy curdling on the skin or in the mouth or throat

- bleeding if the surface is scratched

- mild pain

- foul discharge from the genital area, often accompanied by a burning sensation when urinating.

The current thinking in medical circles is to treat yeast infections naturally. This means taking a simply oral supplement which combats the effect of the yeast overgrowth. Not only are these remedies safe, they also come with a money back guarantee unlike traditional medicines. The main reason for doctors prescribing these items is that they have found that recurrent cases are much less than those using traditional medicines.
