Jesus was a man, albeit a very unique man. Jesus was a Jew and a very knowledgeable one at that. So, how did we come to the place where this historical person got the reputation of starting a new religion that would replace Judaism and more extreme than that was to decide that he was a second person in the trinity: can you say GOD?

When one steps back from decades of religious indoctrination, which isn't easy to do, a whole different world of thoughts about this historical Jesus can come into play- a both a good and bad sense.

It is so crazy that we think we have to divide the world into "them and us". It makes no sense that while God created everyone (ALL) in his image that somehow those who don't look like us, don't think like we do, or whatever differences there are, that somehow 'they" should conform to "us". Such egoic pride, it  has caused so much damage to the world and ourselves.

We are all believers to "some degree".

Jesus was an Eastern thinker, an oriental teacher and philosopher in whom we have tried to clothe with Western and Aristotelian garb. It simply doesn't work. We can't interpret or understand Jesus outside of the environment within which he lived. We can't OBTRUDE unnecessarily in the culture of others. And, we certainly can't imitate Jesus if we make him the second person of this logical man-made trinity that was developed to try and "image" Jesus.

Second person of the trinity? These are three people?

Jesus was a human- a very unique human who opened himself FULLY to the Spirit that dwelt within him and  he was FILLED to a degree that no one I know has since. I like what he did and said. I loved who he became and because of how I see him, I know that I can BE like him as well. I AM THAT! I am that which I decide I want to be. Both you and I have FREE WILL and therein rests the problem.

The degree of divinity that Jesus developed is AVAILABLE to everyone: Jesus simply MAXED it out!

Truth be known we really don't want to FOLLOW JESUS! Instead of picking up our CROSS and FOLLWING him, most Christians have found it more to their liking to pick up a TAMBORINE and WORSHIP him. Besides, we only have to do the latter for an hour on Sunday. Trying to embrace the former means a 24/7 application that can at many turns not be too much fun at all.

Know what I'm saying?
