Are you sick or arguing with your spouse and feel angrier later when the shouting stops. Is cold and silent treatment common between you two? Do you avoid discussing your differences? Is divorce the only solution that can be made?

Many couples jumped into the marriage bandwagon without realizing how much compromises or sacrifices they have to make. Marriage is both ways. It could be single way, but not for long. Both spouses has equal obligation and commitment to make it works.

When disagreement arises, have you ever tried sitting down and forget what the argument is all about? Spend some quiet time alone, without bringing up the issue. Enjoy the time spent together. There are some excellent books and articles on how to make marriages work, how to re-ignite the spark in a relationship and how a few simple steps can bring back the love in a relationship that had turned hateful.

Start believing in your husband. More than just about anything, men crave your support. They want a listener, someone who shares their dream, even it is silly. Deep inside, men are all soft emotional creature too. However, if you disagree with a course of action your man has taken and you think you have a route that may lead to a better result, try and guide him back on course instead of being forthright and critical.

Marriage counseling can be a very effective instrument in putting a marriage that seems to be going down the divorce path back onto the right track. When things really turned out bad, hand it over to third party and I mean professional, not your mother-in-law! Spend time talking about all the problems with a third party. The problems might not be that serious after all, and with some guidance, you can actually save your marriage.

Go travel. If possible, find a secluded beach resort or hill resort. The point of these resorts is to reinvigorate a relationship by introducing some of the passion and spontaneity that over time can be watered down by obligations and daily responsibilities. Try to avoid busy cities. Try spa and massages together. With the romantic ambiance and the lack of daily work stress, you might fall in love all over again.

These four considerations will go a long way in smoothing out some of the relationship bumps. All in all, if you are willing to put in your best efforts to stop your marriage from slipping away, there is now help at hand and you need not have to fight alone.
