We all want to be fit, but for some of us the idea of regular exercise sounds more like hard work than fun. Trampolining, however, is one of the best forms of exercise available, and certainly the most fun! It can be enjoyed by people of all ages in the convenience, privacy and safety of their own garden. It requires no particular skills and no special clothing. Being zero impact exercise, it is safe and gentle for everyone to do.

Trampolining is low impact exercise and therefore much gentler on the joints than running, jogging, skipping etc on hard surfaces. It will help to strengthen the legs by improving the mineral content of the bones which makes them stronger. This will reduce the chances of getting osteoporosis in the future and the fractures associated with brittle bones. The benefits of this therefore can be enjoyed by people of all ages.

Because all the muscles are involved, in particular in the stomach, arms and legs, trampolining can help to firm up the tummy, the thighs and the bottom. Regular exercise can help reduce bodyweight, which in turn reduces the risks of obesity and the consequent problems that can cause in later life. Just a few minutes on a trampoline each day can help you lose weight, strengthen the muscles and provide better overall health.

The cardiovascular system benefits particularly from trampoline exercise. Circulation is improved and increased oxygen levels help prevent cardiovascular disease and improve heart function as well as repairing tissue damage. The capacity of the lungs and heart can be increased and cholesterol can be lowered. The lymphatic system is also improved by trampoline exercise. The white blood count is increased which detoxifies the body and strengthens the immune system.

As early as 1980 NASA scientists were claiming that trampoline exercise was the most effective form of exercise we could do. The brief feeling of weightlessness achieved from this exercise stimulates the brain, creating a feeling of exhilaration and a consequent improvement in mood. Trampolining therefore relieves stress, aids relaxation and helps you to sleep better.

For children and older people, improved coordination and concentration helps the mental faculties. An improvement in balance can give confidence in other activities to the very young and the elderly. Trampolining is also said to help reduce cholesterol and triglyceride levels in the blood, which is becoming an increasing problem for adults today.

Garden trampolines can be made extremely safe with foam pads and safety netting. They are easy to erect and available in a range of sizes for any garden space. They are also extremely affordable, making them an ideal addition to the family garden.

A garden trampoline will keep the entire family amused for hours, getting them out of doors and into the fresh air to enjoy this fun activity whilst bouncing their way to health and fitness.
