Many couples feel as though their exciting sex lives are over when the woman is pregnant, but this is not necessarily the case. Even when you are pregnant you can still have a lot of fun, in fact a lot of people have more fun and enjoy one another and are willing to try new things.

Many women are actually more sexual during their pregnancies than they are at any other time. Sex when you are pregnant can be fun and exciting, so don't give into the misconceptions that say that your hot sex life is over when you are pregnant.

Especially early in the pregnancy you may not notice any differences. Many women actually find that they want sex more often, and this is usually due to fluctuations in hormones. If the desire is there, why not take advantage of it.

It is often early in the pregnancy that one or both people will worry that having sex can actually hurt the baby. There is no need to worry about it, you can continue to have sex like you always have and no harm will come to the baby. The baby is held within side of the uterus as well as a protective amniotic sac, so no harm can come to them.

After the woman starts to get a belly sex may need to change a bit. This is just a logistical thing, but it doesn't need to take away from the enjoyable nature of your intimate relations. In fact, it can just add to the fun as you can try out new positions. Many women find that positions where the woman on top is most comfortable because not only can they keep any weight off of their growing bellies, they can control everything.

This is just something that you have to feel out together and what may work during one stage of pregnancy may not work in another. Work together and just do what is comfortable for you both, as this will allow you to continue to enjoy one another.

Even as the pregnancy progresses you can continue to enjoy sex. In most pregnancies you can continue to be intimate throughout the whole pregnancy, and many doctors actually suggest having sex toward the end of a pregnancy because sperm actually helps to speed up the changes in the cervix that allow for a woman to give birth.

So, having sex can not only be a great way to pass the time and renew your bonds, it can also help to progress the pregnancy when you reach or pass your due date. You should definitely take advantage of the sex during pregnancy as a woman usually cannot have sex for at least two weeks afterward and a new baby may limit your opportunities.
