Most people think that they cannot change at any time, "I yam what I yam," as habitually explained by Popeye. If you want change in your life first you should think that you can transform. There should be a time at when we should say: "I am ready to transform."

Be careful about a mental lock. Roger von Oech, in the Whack on the Side of the Head, there is a list of "mental lock" as called by him. To get out of the mediocrity and procrastination life, we should protect the mind from thoughts that can kill the expectation of success. The following questions can guide you to concentrate on changing your attitude. Say "yes" if you a thought or said about the following:

- I have not let out creativity.
- Don’t move till you have best vision.
- Rules are to be followed.
- Logic is necessary.
- It doesn't sound right.
- Need to be practical.
- Never make mistakes,
- I would be the fool if I am not successful.
- Its beyond my knowledge.

Take on of the "yes" and think about the last incident when you thought or said about it. Did you plan to give up when you thought about it? Do the words or thoughts affect the productivity of your work – you get what you say. Don't deceive yourself-procrastination is the main reason people fail to live fulfilling and prosperous lives.

A small quiz like above can also be a big opportunity to improve one's ability and get things completed. Don’t think you can change you attitude by rushing on all at same time. Concentrate on one area till others question you what happened. When other people notice your change, it will show your victory progress over procrastination.

It begins at the mind. When you are determined to make things happen, you can use you untouched abilities you didn’t know, which most never use. If you think you will be successful, do jump in every opportunity which may cause procrastination. Remember that your goal must be excellence rather than perfection.

Stick to your humor sense. James Clerk Maxwell, a great Scottish physicist of the 19th century, was asked by his superiors in Cambridge University to attend a church service compulsorily at 6 a.m. "Aye," said Maxwell, "I suppose I could stay up that late."

Always keep in mind to be careful of mental lock that locks us in defeat and procrastination's vicious circle. Be determined to cross the mediocrity level – go ahead and start whacking yourselves on the sides of your heads to do it.
