High blood pressure otherwise known as hypertension is a serious problem nowadays. Like other illnesses, the causes are obesity, poor and unhealthy diet, lack of exercise, heredity, adrenal tumor, and constriction of the aorta and kidney diseases.

The common symptoms usually experienced by persons with high blood pressure are the following: headache, dizziness, incessant dull sound in the ears, nose bleeding, depression, tension, haziness of the vision and unexplained red faces.

High blood pressure can occur because of indulgence to alcoholic beverages, smoking and using prohibited drugs, an unhealthy diet, too much salt and sodium intake, too much insulin in the body, heredity, stress and too much pressure.

To prevent high blood pressure, it is necessary for a person to change his or her diet and have a regular exercise. A proper high blood pressure diet includes fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains and low fat dairy products, acid alkaline, Mediterranean, GI and leptin diets. It is not necessary that you have to eat more of the same. The best methods are: sticking with a low cholesterol diet and making a food diary for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Be sure to monitor from time to time the foods you're going to take. Also, cut down high cholesterol foods to reduce high blood pressure.

Fresh fruits and vegetables are rich in fibers. It can help the digestive system in bringing out body wastes. Whole grains and low dairy products are rich in protein and it helps in building and repairing body tissues. It is also a great source of energy and can help keep skin, nails and hair healthy.

Some acidic and alkaline rich foods are also good for high blood pressure. Choices of these includes white and brown sugar, potatoes, brown or white rice, coffee or tea, lean meat, bananas, and cranberries, soy milk, herbal teas and coconuts.
Remember that eating moderately of acidic foods and the alkaline foods are good and can help a person maintain a balanced high blood pressure level. Eating these foods too much may weaken the heart, veins and arteries thus causing damage to them.

Mediterranean diet is helpful in fighting high blood pressure. This diet includes daily consumption of olive oils and red wine with fruits and vegetables, bread, cereals, fish lean meat and pasta. Olive oil can cut down cholesterol level and this is more preferred than having fats and hydrogenated oils. Red wine should be taken in moderation in order to combat saturated fats in our body.
The GI diet is good to lower high blood pressure as well as losing weight. Foods in this diet can lower the insulin level; thus, helping the body system to function effectively.

The Leptin diet can help reduce calories in the human body. These calories if not reduced will produce high blood pressure and with arteries hardened causing various diseases in our body.

Consider these diets and for sure it would help you prevent high blood pressure.
