Many people suffer from balding. Many are worried about losing their hair. One key to hair loss treatments is to get treatment early. This can help treat it before the follicles are deadened and will never produce hair again. This is why it is important to know the early signs of balding. In order to understand balding, it is important to understand the hair growth process. Your hair goes through normal cycles of growth and rest. The growth phase can last from two to six years. After that, the hair rests for three or four months. After it has finished this phase, it falls out and is replaced by a new hair that starts the same process. About ninety percent of your hair is in the growing phase at any given time. Since the other ten percent is resting it is normal to lose anywhere from fifty to one hundred hairs a day. Balding happens differently depending on the cause of it. It can also be different if you are a man or woman. For instance, androgenic alopecia or genetic hair loss has the same cause in men and women, yet makes them bald differently. For men, it starts as just a receding hairline that just continues to work its way back until the entire top of the head is bald. For women the hair just thins evenly over the head until it is bald. Other types of hair loss can cause patchy bald spots, such as with alopecia areata, an autoimmune disorder that attacks the hair follicle. Some hair loss begins at the crown and works its way out in a circular pattern. There are a few signs that you may be losing your hair. One is noticing an unusually high amount of hair falling out when you brush your hair. Another early sign of balding is seeing that your hairline is going back. It is important to keep in mind that just because your hair looks thinner, does not mean you are balding. If you use a lot of styling products in your hair, it can make your hair look thinner. When you start to see early signs of balding you should talk with your doctor. Your doctor can take a look at what may be causing the hair loss. They can also help you create an effective course of action for treating your hair loss. There can be many different factors that are making you lose your hair. It could even be a number of different factors working together that are causing the problem. There are even tests that can be done on your hair to see what is causing your hair loss issues. The good news is that there are many different treatments available today to help stop the hair loss and even help new hair grow. You can be sure no matter what treatment you go with, that once you have solved your hair loss problems you can be confident that you look your best.
