Perhaps you have heard about the Mirror Principle. Essentially, this principle states that as within, so without.
This means that your outer world is a reflection of what is going on inside of you. If you are happy inside, your 'outer' life will tend to reflect that, and this is equally true for any combination of emotions you may be emitting and beliefs you are holding.
Put another way, it means that when you 'react' to something in a way that is less than who you want to be, and begin to blame others for your upsets, it's time to take a good look inside, because others can only show us what is inside of us...they have no power to create for us.
If you don't believe this, consider the fact that you would haveno reaction whatsoeverto something that does not bother you; if something bothers you it means there are issues around that with which you have not dealt thoroughly - it has nothing to with the 'other person'.
You can help yourself see more clearly about what you are creating in life by examinimng your reactions.
A personal example: Because I know this to be true, I recently looked within when a dear friend of mine said something that angered and upset me. This same friend, in fact, earlier in the same week, had been ranting and raving about the behavior of an acquaintance - she did this and she did that, and how could she!, etc. - and I could see so clearly that what she should be asking herself was'Why am I reacting this way? Why is this bothering me?'...so now it was time to give myself a dose of my own medicine!
This is what personal development is all about -developing! Being willing to look inside and do the tough stuff, so that the next time a particular issue comes up, you will be 'bigger' - you will have moved past the old thinking patterns and unconscious beliefs that had you be reactive instead of creative.
In short, when you feel things like:
* anger
* jealousy
* frustration
* judgment and condemnation
* blaming
* insecurity
* fear
The fastest, most deeply effective - and often most difficult - route to freedom and growth is tolook inside!
