When you are ready to quit smoking the first thing that you need to do is to have the right attitude about quitting. Some people go into it and think well if I stop ok and if I don't no big deal but for you to succeed you are going to need to have a desire to improve the quality of your life and having the right mindset is the first step. Once you have made the decision then you need to let your family know that it is not going to be easy but you need them to support you through this difficult time.
