There is a lot of products on the market geared toward teeth whitening. As we're all catapulted into the second decade of the twentieth century, super white teeth are a necessity in our society. Having a brilliant white smile used to be reserved for the rich and famous, with many whitening procedures costing thousands of dollars and requiring multiple visits to the dentist to complete. Now teeth whitening cost is under a $100 for some at-home methods, while you can still find some dentists who charge thousands for in-office laser treatments -- if you look hard enough.

At home
You can easily find over-the-counter bleaching products, such as whitening strips, brush on gels, along with kits that include a DIY molded bleach trays you place in your mouth for 20 minutes or more. Teeth whitening cost will vary between methods and brands, but as mentioned: Most at-home treatments will come in at under $100.
At the dentist
Some people will prefer to have their teeth whitened by their dentist, or hygienist. A dental teeth whitening cost will range from a couple of hundred, into the thousands, depending on the procedure and the dentist's reputation in the community. Most will offer either bleaching with custom fitted trays to hold the bleaching liquid and a light source to activate the whitening process.
Laser treatments tend to be the most expensive, they also can create more temporary sensitivity due to the whitening potential. Most laser whitening procedure will require only a single visit. However, with this method of teeth whitening cost can climb above a $1000 and beyond, as mentioned earlier.
What's Best for You?
That's a question only you can decide for yourself. While many at-home treatments can take a few applications to show results -- they do work, and work quite well. You can opt to have your dentist whiten your teeth, but do keep in mind that your paying for the office staff and dentist and the results will often mirror what you can accomplish in the comfort of your own home. It's simply a matter of preference and budget.
