How do you know if you have leg cellulite? Leg cellulite is pretty easy to recognize... it looks like little dimples, dips, and ripples on a person's leg. Leg cellulite tends to form on women more than men and is typically caused by extreme weight loss or weight gain. Stress, lack of exercise, genetics, and poor nutrition all may also be responsible for leg cellulite.
There are also various other reasons given for the development of leg cellulite. One is that cellulite is linked to a person's metabolism, which is basically regulated by what and how much a person eats and what and how much a person exercises. Eating the right foods in the proper amounts coupled with consistent and regular exercise is important to prevent cellulite build-up on the legs.
Many people don't realize that if their diet is not providing the variety of nutrients needed by the body, it can go into what some have termed as the "starvation mode." When this happens the body will tend to store anything it can as fat which might easily be seen later as leg cellulite. A good diet, which will eliminate cellulite, must be high in lean protein and must have slightly less than a normal caloric intake with lots of fruits and vegetables.
It is important that during the time a person is dieting the body be kept hydrated by drinking a lot water daily. This will also help the body rid itself of toxins. Limiting one's sodium intake which causes the body to retain water is also important, as is avoiding processed foods... especially those with chemical additives.
Another important element to help get rid of leg cellulite is to exercise. It is wise to set up a daily routine that burns a lot of calories and at the same time helps the body build leg muscle. Exercises that will help reduce leg cellulite include weight training, which also boosts one' metabolism, leg raises and squats; and exercises that keep the body and legs moving are stretching, swimming or walking.
Brushing the body can help circulation and massages will help move wastes through the body. There are also creams that work with massaging to help the body rid itself of cellulite and these cellulite creams are being recognized more and more as a valued and viable option for removing leg cellulite.
