One way to a healthier and happier life is through eating low cholesterol food. Although there can be good progress with your cholesterol through diet and healthy exercise, there are times that high medications for high cholesterol is still needed.
Our body needs more good cholesterol or high density lipoprotein (HDL) to effectively prevent clogged blood vessels and lower the risk of heart attacks. But keep statins under control and balanced rather than totally eliminating it. If you are afraid on the side effects of statins, we recommend natural supplements instead. Natural supplements can help reduce your cholesterol levels. Natural food supplements that are beneficial to our body are those that have components of lecithin oil, phytoseterols, and selenium theaflavin and tea catechins.
Change your unhealthy habits and adopt a new and healthier lifestyle if you want to lower cholesterol levels. Remember that high fiber content foods are the most effective ones for reducing cholesterol. They can eliminate cholesterol from the body before it gets into the bloodstream.

Another way of lowering cholesterol is by eating food rich in Vitamin C, E and A. With Vitamin C, arteries are protected and helps decrease hypertension. Free radicals that can damage the artery walls are often prevented and damaged arteries due to plaque deposits can be repaired.

Vitamin E helps reduce the risk of hypertension and other heart diseases. These kinds of vitamins protect the arteries from the effects of oxidized LDL cholesterol.

Vitamin A prevents bad cholesterol from building up of plaque in the arteries and protects the person against cardiovascular disease.
Changing your eating habits could prevent death which is the worst case scenario of high cholesterol levels. Avoid eating from fast foods because these can cause different bodily problems, particularly high blood pressure and obesity. Besides, these foods are rich in salt, sodium, and preservatives which are dangerous to our health. The foods rich in salt are canned foods, frozen dinners and pizza.
Too much fat in the body is also dangerous for it can elevate blood pressure. These are the foods rich in fats and which should be avoided- cream, French fries, sausages, cookies, cheddar, whole milk, pies, fried chicken, cakes, salami, bacon nuts, and those which are made in fast food chains.

The best remedy then is to replace this diet with those that are lower in fats and salt. For example, replace regular ground beef with lean ground beef and ordinary full-fat milk into skimmed milk.
It is also good to have replacements of foods in your diet. For example, instead of French fries replace it with baked or boiled potatoes and fried with grilled foods. Eat more vegetables and fruits. This does not only make the meal delicious but has a better effect in our bodies.

With these, high blood pressure or hypertension will not be a serious problem if we change our eating habits.
