According to the April 15, 2010 article in the Honolulu Advertiser the number of weddings in Hawaii has dropped off about 30 percent over the last five years.
With a tight economy, less people are able to come to Hawaii to tie the knot. According to the Honolulu Advertiser, many of the larger weddings that are coming to the islands has fallen. Couples getting married are tightening their budgets and are simply not bringing as many family and friends as they used to.
Because of this drop off in Hawaii weddings, the conditions are now even more romantic and affordable for couples coming from the mainland. In the past, it was not uncommon to have a lot of weddings on the same beach. But now, it is often likely that a couple and their small wedding party will be the only wedding on a particular beach.
If you want more privacy and a secluded intimate atmosphere, Hawaii is still the best place to have a romantic beach wedding. And this is even more true if you are planning just a small affair, with just your immediate family and friends.
According to theHonolulu Advertiser, "An average wedding costs anywhere from $15,000 to $50,000, not including airfare, lodging and other incidentals." But that is certainly not the pricing which all Hawaii wedding planners offer.
Maui wedding planner Susan Pieper, of Maui Me Inc., stated that couples who want to get married in the islands should take advantage of wedding packages in Hawaii. "Even our most expensive Maui wedding package runs only $3897. Where a couple runs into higher prices is when they purchase their wedding using ala carte pricing and choose a private location. Simple beach weddings are suprisingly inexpensive. Our price of our entry level Hawaii maui wedding packages is only $897."
Hawaii still offers a great value for couples you want to get away from the stress and expense of a mainland wedding, which can run into many thousands. Susan states that, one of her clients came to Maui with eleven guests. The bride bragged about how out her wedding package in Maui, plus her airfare and hotel accommodations, cost less than many of her friend's weddings back home in Connecticut.
When you consider that a mainland wedding often must included an expensive dinner reception for a lot of guests, it makes sense for a young couple to escape to paradise to enjoy their less expensive and more romantic beach wedding. And those savings will start, first in foremost, with selecting a Hawaii wedding package maui from one of the great Maui wedding planners that are available.
