The fashion meter is soaring all time high with the recent fashion weeks adding glitz and glamor to the fresh new fashion year. One such prestigious fashion week in India was the Lakme India Fashion Week (LIFW) - March 2010, where the ramp saw the creative brilliance of various industry patrons and upcoming designers. Bollywood charmer Manish Malhotra too showcased his beautiful collection at the Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2010. This time his collection had an Indian flavor with bundgala, anarkalis and kurtas dominating the ramp. The overall theme was inspired by the sea side holiday resort - St Tropez. He celebrated the Indian spirit with young and vibrant designs and cuts. Single shoulder kurtas sans dupattas with luxurious layering found favor amongst the audience besides, the transparent anarkali kurtas were indeed found extremely sexy. The leggings paired with kurtas and anarkalis had a bling quotient with sparkling touches given to it. 
The color palette of the collection was focused on pastel colors with elaborate shadings while for the fabric, Net was extensively used as the base for dhoti pants, long floor length robes for bikinis and transparent anarkali kurtas. Satin and silk fabrics in the shades of old gold were used for micro shorts for diaphanous kurtas. Fashion accessories were kept minimal with an occasional usage of long pearl strings and bags with a couple of dresses. The show kaleidoscopically moved from beautiful swirly, hazy kurtas with rich embroidery and velvet borders to sexy net and chiffon saris which were quite aesthetically and innovatively teamed up with chudidars. The 'net over prints' amongst the women fashion clothing was a highly praised concept as it brought about the oomph factor and set the mercury meter high with the hot and sexy collection. On the men's section, Manish exclusively concentrated on the traditional Indian 'bundgala' to paint his creativity. The bundgala jackets, like other garments were pastel colored and were done craftily with a number of collars and closures. A variety of pockets and plackets, piping edged collars, one to three button closures were used to bring out the contemporary essence in every ensemble.
