So you are married to an alcoholic? Well it is easy to see he/she is drinking alone, also losses of jobs, has violent behavior or is super friendly when drinking or violent. Also if this person needs alcohol to function there is a problem.

When an alcoholic drinks they change like the difference between the sun and the moon. If you are sick of it and can not take it anymore do not do it. I am a a recovering alcoholic and what happens is is family and friends try to hide the problem. And this hurts the one with the problem. But this is not a way to help him/her. they will act like everything is normal even letting them drink with them.

If you try to change this person it will not work the person with the problem needs to seek help on their own. If you put up with the verbal abuse you are as mentally sick as they are. And if they notice their drinking is bothering you they love that.

Treat them as a stranger while they are drinking, do not help them in any way except to keep them from driving. when they straight tell them that you do love them and also tell them the rotten things they did while drinking. Children as well as husbands/ wives suffer a tremendous amount of emotional stress also. Do not forget the kids they can be very aware of the whole situation at a early age. I myself was brought up in a alcoholic family and can testify to the terrible effect this has had on me and on the entire family. Remember their is help and you are not alone being married to an alcoholic.

Now that you have learned some of what it takes to deal with being Married To Alcoholic feel free to visit my website on Married To Alcoholic .
