There are sixteen plus people unemployed and another ten million under-employed. God only knows how many aren't counted because once you've been out of work for six months and aren't taking government money, you're not counted. They are striking and rioting in Greece and that will come to America probably sooner than we think. Oh, wait! Isn't America TOO BIG TO FAIL? It's said that at the end of his ministry that Jesus had 120 people gather in the upper room (in fear and trembling). The twelve apostles were illiterate fishermen. Wow, how about that for a culture shift! And they turned the world upside down? Yes, and we should take note of that. As Ervin Laszlo wrote, "As in all revolutions, fundamental changes in society arises not from the mainstream, or from center ground of organized and vested interests that represent the status quo, but on society's MARGINS with people who seek a new way of being." It was just 4-5 years ago that I became one of those "marginalized" people. In seeking a new way of being, I lost more than fifty percent of the people that were once with me. They liked the status quo, they wanted the acceptance of their peers, they wanted to run with those in power and authority, and they didn't want to follow someone who wasn't with the MAJORITY. They weren't about to have their status quo PILFERED by anyone! The "We must follow the established rules" mantra can't take us to where the Kingdom is! There a shift in consciousness afoot and it is nonhierarchical, compassionately inclusive, and empowering to all among other things. When one has worked hard to get to the top of the food chain, this isn't what they want to hear. Hear or not, there are messages coming from the margins and you don't have to be afraid because it's in the form of a love language. Listen and let it arise.
