The hip replacement surgery has been 1 of the best successful orthopedic surgical method in this modern generation. It uses bio materials which are made of synthetic and partly synthetic materials used to replace a part of the human body. With the help of these modern and high technology materials, it allows the hip replacement to be one of the most selected surgery of the patients.

Minimally invasive surgery of the hip replacement permits the surgeon to do the hip transplant by 1 or 2 small incision. And persons that are susceptible to this kind of procedure are the patients that are younger, healthier, and thinner and are motivated for a quicker recovery compared to the traditional surgical procedure.

Being well knowledgeable with the procedure and knowing the expectations from the procedure is very important. Patients that are susceptible to this treatment must be educated first for every benefits and even the risks of the surgery. The patient together with the surgeon must have to determine if the procedure is accurate for the patient.

Sometimes, the phrase of minimally invasive surgery is deceiving; it is a surgery because every type of surgeries is invasive. The human body's reaction to injury has been predictable, and it comprises changeable emotions and discomfort up to the recovery period until the total healing happens.

Minimally invasive surgery can only lessen but do not eliminate the normal trauma response of the surgery. It also do not guaranty the risk free surgery, just like in any other hip surgery, it is still connected to the risks like nerve injury, premature implantation, infection and unpredictable complications or even death. Although these complications are rare, any one who needs to go on any of the procedures must be aware before getting into the treatment method.

The artificial implants are the same with the traditional hip surgery, and specially designed for the need of preparation to the femur and socket to be able to put the artificial implants correctly.

The incision is measured for about 3-6 inches depending to the size of patient and the complexity of the replacement procedure. Incision is commonly placed at the outer side of the hips. Tendons and muscles were detached but on a lesser coverage compared to the conventional hip replacement procedure.

Advantages of minimally invasive replacement surgery:

- Rehabilitation is faster
- Stays shorter in the hospital
- Lesser pain
- Lesser damage to the muscle
