Mood swingis the condition when the person expresses and experiences the variety of the emotions within the span of the few hours. People who is suffering from such problems, goes from very happy feeling to the very angry feeling, frustration and irritable, within the very short span of time.

Mood swing is affected twice as the many women as the men. Such problem is the commonplace especially in the metropolitan cities because of the fast speed life, lower patient levels, higher work pressures and modern lifestyle.

Causes of the mood swings in the women:

Various studies have shown that the hormones have the very deep impact on the brain chemistry which controls the emotions and moods. The lots of factors in the women’s life like the hormonal imbalance, endocrinal abnormalities, pregnancy, menopause, menstrual cycle, hypothyroidism or any other biological problems, plays the very important role for fluctuating the moods. During the time of the menopause, there are the lots of changes between the testosterones & progesterone, hormones estrogen which results into the hormonal imbalance & causes the mood swings. Correspondingly, during the time of the ovulation, a woman experiences the lot of physical, behavioral and emotional changes because the hormonal changes.

Other reasonsof the mood swings in the women are stress at the work and at home. Excessive stress can lead to the depression & mood swings. The woman experiences the stress in the huge volume in their daily life. Working women are having the pressure regarding their office works in addition to their work at the home too. They are looking after their kids and also take care of their aged parents & try their best in the out performing their jobs also. The lot of responsibilities can lead to the stress. Sometimes because of the lack of the mutual understanding between the husband & the wife or by some of the other reasons, their married life can become miserable. These can also become the cause of the stress and the determining factor of the mood swing.

The modern lifestyle is also playing the key role in enhancing the chance of the mood swing. Smoking, alcohol, having sugar, eating fast foods, lack of patience, chocolates, tea/coffee in excess, stressful work environment, and lack of physical activity, hyper sensitiveness, all of these things can contribute in the fluctuation of the moods.

Treatment of the mood swing:

Mood swings are the problem that can be treated by just making some of the changes in their lifestyle & by taking some of the alternative medicines. Firstly, the women should have the positive attitudes towards their life. Try to eliminate the stress from their life. Pranayam, yoga, & some other light exercises such as the swimming, brisk walk and dancing are very good ways in distressing their mind & body. Establish the habits of reading. Musics can also help in soothing the stressful mind. Always take the diet which is full of the nutrition.
