In order to motivate yourself you have to have discipline, self-awareness, confidence, and enthusiasm.

Discipline is the first essential as without it you will flounder. No matter what your circumstances you must start the day with a routine which encompasses your appearance and a clear idea of what is to be achieved that day. Never mind about tomorrow or next week, today is your priority.

A person with a smart appearance and tidy work station will achieve far more than someone floundering around in a messy room. So before anything else get your priorities for the day sorted out.

Learn to know yourself inside out. Know your weaknesses and your strengths, be honest. Play up your strengths and work on the weaknesses, until you have complete control.

With a disciplined outlook your confidence will grow. Confidence in yourself will project itself to others and make them want to listen to you and follow your example.

In order to become motivated it's a good idea to set yourself a target and then visualise the end result. Spend time with positive thinking people and discuss the project in full so that you all have a clear idea of what the end result should be.

Spend time reading and learning as much as you can so that you can get to grips with what's needed. Don't lose sight of what are the important aspects of your project and write them down so you can tick them off one at a time. This will enable you to see for yourself as you go along the progress you are making.

Share your thoughts and ideas with your colleagues and take on board any suggestions they may have to offer. It's easy to become self absorbed so outside ideas and suggestions can help to keep the motivation going.

You must be enthusiastic about the work you are doing and confident that you are using every means at your disposal to reach the end target.

A good motivator is the need to succeed and improve your standard of living. Do you want to feel satisfied at the end of the day and know you have done a good day's work for which, hopefully, you will be handsomely rewarded? Of course you do.

When you're with other people listen to what they are saying, and show by your body language you're interested. Their reaction to you will make you feel good about yourself and give you the motivation necessary to push forward.

To know your colleagues are happy to work alongside you, and that your clients like and trust you will give you confidence in yourself and motivate you into wanting to go further.

Learn to believe in yourself and what you're doing and know that by listening and learning from others you're building up a storehouse of knowledge which will help you to achieve your vision.

Everyone has something to offer, and if you can bring the best out in other people it will inspire and motivate you.
