Many people have defined money in different ways, your perspective of what money is matters. Your view about money has a lot to do with how you will live your life, for one, money is the only reason why some people think they are living. They live and work for money, whereas the rich doesn't work for money, because in actual fact, money works for the rich people. The real joy of living is to make money work you, so that you do not become a slave of money as many people are today. Money is the reason why there is a rise in crime rate, many people are ready and can do anything including killing fellow human beings because of money. Why is money seen as next to God? Even our Lord Jesus Christ said, "You cannot serve God and mammon". Mammon is the god of money. From the statement above, which came from the mouth of our Lord Jesus Christ, it seem to me that people only serve two types of deity on earth, The Almighty God or the unrighteous mammon. If you analise it, you will find this assertion to be true. With this point, I will like to give definition to money according to my own understanding of it in light of what the Bible teaches. Money is not the root of all evil as some erroneously believe, the Bible did not say it that way, what the Bible says is, "The love of money is the root of all evil". When you love money and value it above every other thing then you are in for evil actions to get money by all means. Getting money by all means or planning to do so is evil and should be shorned by you and all good citizens of this world. Money is not everything, neither can money do everything. When I said that sometimes ago, a fellow answered me with a quotation from the Bible that states, "Money answers all things". This statement is true and can be found in the book of Ecclesiastes 10: 19 and I will like to quote it as it was written in the Bible, "A feast is made for laughter, and wine maketh merry: but money answereth all things". Here the preacher was talking about feasts, (that is wine and dine) and the role of money in it. It is not referring to all things in life but all things as per feasting. Money cannot buy love, it cannot buy many other important aspects of life, this point by now, you should have come to realize. Money is nothing but the medium of exchange of goods and services rendered, it is the agreed legal tender acceptable in the nations of the world. We know that this defer from country to country hence the British use the Pound Sterling, the Americans use the US dollars and so on. The economy of the world is getting harmonized to the level that money have the same value wherever you go in the world. Some currencies are stronger that others though, but the value of purchase is almost always equivalent. Money has advanced beyond the level of using bank currencies, now money can come in form of checks, western union, e-currencies, ATM, MasterCard, visa card, credit card and so on. Money is neither good nor bad, it is what you make it to be. You can make good use of it, use it to help people and help turn things around for your own and other people's good. At the same time, money can be used to destroy yourself or other people. For example, a man who have money but uses it to purchase hard drug is using money in a bad way. A nation that uses its resources to produce weapons of mass destruction is using money in a very bad way and so some can say the money is bad. So truly, you know now that money is neutral, neither good nor bad. Is money evil?
