As you go through your day, little annoyances will get to you and be stored in your memory banks. On their own, they are not really that big a problem, but as time goes on, you will accumulate more of these little annoyances and before you know it, "my to do list" is huge, and most likely it is all in your head.

This can cause huge stress as we feel a lack of control and the energy that is drained by these mounting annoyances is huge. It actually takes more energy thinking about it and how you are not going to deal with it, than to actually deal with the chore head on!

So, you may not be able to deal with the stress at work or that nasty traffic or that project that is due next week, but you can certainly create a nice atmosphere for when you get home. You need at least one spot in your life that is a stress free zone.

So, take out that pad of paper and write up your to do list and start with the simplest of chores that have been annoying you and bugging you for days, weeks, months or even years. That hanging piece of trim off the door, that sticky door handle, those dirty curtains. Every time you see these things, you are reminded that you need to deal with this chore, and somehow you don't get it done and it builds up, so that the atmosphere is not a stress free zone anymore.

When you are sitting at home working on a project for work, looking up and seeing bits falling off your walls or house is not a comforting sight, it just adds to the stress ball.

So, get out your pad of paper and start listing these annoyances, and make a to do list.

Then come up with a date that you are going to tackle these chores, or at least one of them, and this way you can then scratch it off your list, which feels amazing! You will feel back in control again!
